The landscape of this project is composed of a layered system of sustainable plants. Sited on a parallelogram, the house and the site produce two geometries that inform the system of layering. A terrace with concrete pavers is planted with aloes, and is the base of a set of stairs that is covered with Korean grass to create a sculptural green element, extending the axis of the house to an upper terrace with ocean views. With a palate of ornamental grasses, succulents, gravel and boulders, the layered landscape creates tiers as it climbs the hill that are the backdrop for the house and the terrace.
