The "Big Island"

Project Year: 2016
Project Cost: $100,001 - $150,000
This is the kitchen before the remodel. Oak cabinets with vinyl flooring and a soffit around the entire ceiling.
Charbonneau Kitchen remodel
We removed the soffit which helps make the space look larger. We also removed the wall that separated the kitchen and living area. In its place we incorporated this large island with plenty of seating.

This before shot shows the back side of the wall that was removed to join the cooking and living spaces.
Living area
This island was built using a mixture of new cabinets and a reusing the old cabinets. The perimeter cabinets were all existing we just incorporated new crown, paint and hardware.

This bar seemed a bit too unsymmetrical. and out of date.
Wine Bar
We used the existing cabinetry and just added doors to the left side and removed the wood wine rack from the middle. We also added a new counter top and cabinet hardware.

Original stairs were carpeted and had dated balusters and newels.

We installed beautiful stained maple hardwood and more contemporary balusters and newels to give these stairs new life.

The original layout had a few steps up to the living room space.

We removed the steps up to the living room and continued the maple hardwood throughout the entire space. This created a much more open feel. We also removed the partition walls in the hallway at the upper level to create an open catwalk. This allowed the natural light to come in from the transoms...
