Transitional Lakeside Residence

Our clients wanted a home that was open, full of natural light, and enabled them to make the most of long summer days (and nights)! They were looking for a space to entertain guests, have access to stunning lake views year-round, yet stay true to their Midwestern roots.

This transitional home combines features that are both old and new -- certain elements were borrowed from the past, while still allowing for the modern conveniences we're accustomed to.

A view of the rear of the home. There's plenty of space for outdoor gatherings on a hot summer day. There are excellent lake views from that raised porch., and there is a more private porch just off of the master bedroom on the second level.

The clear, blue lake in the background looks almost tropical, and he home was designed to make the most of this magnificent view. The back of the home offers many places to sit and relax with a cold drink on a hot day!

The detached garage has a second story that serves as a guest room/private office. There are contrasting window sized (which adds visual interest) and unique colors as well. The garage is a soft greenish-blue, that complements the pale yellow of the main residence.
