Tudor Revival
Hidden underneath over grown trees and shrubs stood
a beautiful Tudor style mansion that was about to go through
a massive renovation from top to bottom, inside and out. In order for the landscape architecture to compliment the style of the house, it was important to keep the
lines clean and materials consistent as to not overwhelm the space or take away from the surrounding architecture. To make sure that this would happen, it was pertinent that we worked together with the architect and mason so that all materials would compliment one another. The combination of bluestone and limestone found in the patios and walkways was based on the materials found on the façade of the house.
To add even more character to the rear patio, we laid 2’ x 2’ bluestone in a diamond pattern. This was also a reflection of the wood floors found inside of the house, right before you walk out on to the patio, to create a sense of continuity.
