From the outside in, every detail in this magnificent custom contemporary keeps comfort and livability in mind. From a rambling great room layout to the cozier bedroom suites, the finer points of this home definitely stand out.
Architecture had a significant influence on the design concepts used for this project. The challenges of working with atypical room dimensions, abundant windows, and a high arched ceiling required some creative thinking. Starting within the great room, assimilating a distinction between the chef’s kitchen, dining area, seating vignette and multi-functional game spot involved using color, texture and hand-crafted furnishings to create a casual, harmonious flow.
Balancing the architecture and interior design elements with the client’s extensive art collection brought life to other rooms in the house. Concentrating on the mix of contemporary and indigenous pieces, furniture also becomes art, and richly detailed, personalized spaces emerge. This home has grandeur but remains blissfully intimate.
