Vesta Fire Pit
Landscape designer, shop owner, and artist Elizabeth Pryzgoda-Montgomery announces the release of her first design in a line of modern rustic fire pits. “VESTA,” from the BOXHILL GLOW! “After almost 20 years of designing luxury landscapes for clients all over the Desert Southwest and the Caribbean, I felt that there was a bit of a void when it came to sourcing products that were accessible to all budgets. That was my impetus for creating VESTA and the entire GLOW! Collection – I wanted to make good design and quality products attainable for every client.”
VESTA is the first design in a collection of goddess-inspired fire pits from BOXHILL’s GLOW! Collection. We honor Vesta, the Roman goddess of the hearth, home, and family with this regal, yet simple design. In the early Roman communities, fire was not easily sourced, and the Romans placed a special value to forever-burning hearth fires. Vesta’s presence in the home was symbolized by a sacred fire, which burned in the hearth, and it was common to see household shrines dedicated to her spirit.
VESTA’s rounded shape was inspired by the sanctuaries of the goddess Vesta, still found in Italy, today. Traditionally worshiped in a circular building, her temples were built to imitate the shape of both early Italian round huts and public hearths. The VESTA fire pit has a shallow, generous bowl that measures 32” x 23”, which will allow the beauty of the flame to take a primary role. The VESTA is sold in two pieces—the shallow bowl, and the pedestal base, which measures 19.5” x 9”. It is available in two colors—raw, untreated steel, and a natural rusted finish. Additionally, the VESTA can be modified to accommodate clients that require gas or propane options. When not in use, the VESTA’s unpretentious, tasteful design will be at home on the balcony of an urban loft, or as the centerpiece to a clean, rustic patio. Bold, modern, and minimalistic, the VESTA combines unadorned, exquisite design with a place for friends and family to gather…it is “Barefoot Luxury” in every way.
