This small 1950’s home in Victoria Park, Fort Lauderdale was updated with Contemporary features of polished white porcelain tile flooring and a grey lacquer Contemporary Kitchen cabinetry before KHI took on the project.

The client’s desire was to continue that aesthetic with more texture and materiality to create warmth. KHI designed a Living Room wall with reclaimed barn wood combined with metal porcelain tile and a floating TV console cabinet. The Living room furnishings were completed with accent tables and area rug.

The Master Bedroom walls were the original masonry walls, but lacked any color or interest. Our team collaborated with faux painter Randy Keller to create Concrete textured walls and with Surface Workshop, who built a custom dresser designed by KHI.

The Dining Room was an especially fun part of the house to take on, as the client’s wished to add something that would help with the acoustics of the house. Snowsound acoustic panels provided an interesting solution with their Flap panel which was installed on the wall and ceiling as an art piece, yet helped the acoustics as needed.
