Westway Residence
This 5,500 SF home is in Lido Shores, situated mere feet from the Gulf of Mexico. Taking advantage of the magnificent view that surrounds and encompasses the property, the owners wanted to have as much visibility of the water as possible throughout the entire home, coupled with a desire to utilize as much natural light as possible. Wide, expansive windows in every room of the home were employed to achieve the effect. The windows create an open and bright feeling, though the all white walls contribute considerably to the general sense of brightness.
One of the most notable features of the home is the spiral staircase leading up to the front door. It is grand, yet unique, and serves as a fitting introduction to guests and visitors. At the top of the staircase, visitors are greeted by huge wooden front doors, which are a perfect transition into the home.
The owners are true art aficionados and avid collectors. Because of this, they desired ample space to showcase the artwork they had acquired in a fashion similar to that of a gallery. To fulfill these wishes, expansive wall space was left available and reserved exclusively for their collection of beautiful artwork.
