Wine Cellar/Tasting Room in Jackson
The space was constructed within an unfinished area of the basement approximately 14'-0" x 18'-0". The wine cellar is a climatically controlled space with approximately 1,000-bottle capacity. The cellar was completely encapsulated with a polystyrene insulation. An in-wall/non-venting cooling unit was installed to maintain proper temperature. Custom cherry cabinet and a granite countertop with chiseled edge were installed in the cellar. The vision for the tasting room was to create the feel of the veranda of an Italian villa. Three roof lines with clay barrel tile and hand hewned beams were constructed. Custom shutters, distressed hardware and Bedford stone sills were installed for faux window openings and to cover the electrical box/manifold for the home's hydronic heating system. Porcelain floor tile was installed to the cellar and tasting room. Custom murals were painted to the walls, ceiling and steel door to complete the veranda.
