Woodmore Project
This project will mark our most ambitious project to date. Demands at work and home left our clients with little time for vacation and retreat. Thus, they sought our help to create a vacation destination in their own backyard.
The design program for the property took advantage of the full range of The Sharper Cut’s services. From concept to installation, our team of professionals guided the clients through a rigorous permitting process, design development, and value engineering to conform to their budget. A plan was put together to allow construction to be implemented in phases, but the clients decided to perform all of the work at once.
The entry to the property is marked by an automatic gate with brick walls which conform to the house’s existing architectural style. As guests pull into a private arrival court they are treated to lush plantings alongside a bubbling fountain. The new paver driveway leads into an expanded paver motor court into a new two car garage. Beyond the garage, to the rear of the property, the clients requested a sport court for tennis and basketball.
The back yard accommodates a large variety of living and recreational spaces. An expansive deck, specially engineered to feature beautiful curves with custom rails and staircase, flows down onto a spacious patio. Directly under the deck is a luscious kitchen and bar, complete with lighting, fans and a television. Trim details on the deck and all of its components complement those existing on the house. Special expertise and craftsmanship are required to construct the curved beams and stringers that make the deck so unique.
The patio, with copious space for grand gatherings, leads to the primary destination point; a picturesque pool complete with slide, vanishing edge, an integrated hot tub, and a secluded grotto. For those needing to warm themselves after a brisk swim, an inviting gas fire pit is positioned nearby. Gas tiki torches, two gas flame bowls to frame in the vanishing edge, and two gas flame inserts jutting out of the grotto create a magical environment in the evening hours. Low voltage LED night lighting offers full time use and creates a whole new ambiance. All of the gas appliances and pool pumps will be fully automated and controlled with a smart device as well. The icing on the cake in this secluded paradise is the colorful planting palette and stonescape.
