The counter and backsplash beautifully match the gray in the rug. Yes, gray and wood can go together, and this is a beautiful example. I like the simple backsplash because it doesn't call attention to itself.

The backsplash is 1" x 2" slate in a running bond pattern. The manufacturer was Akdo, but they may not make it anymore. I hope this helps!

This stone is Costa Esperelda granite. However, this project was completed in 2006. The stone being pulled out of the quarry now may look slightly different. It may also be difficult for you to match a stone to a name, as different stone holding companies often have different stones under the same name, or different names for the same stone. We recommend looking at the stone in person and selecting one you love for your project.

The wood species is red birch for the cabinets and floor. The stain is a custom color that was formulated specifically for this client and this project.
