2D-3D Fire Pit Design Idea Integrated With Waterfall Wall

A tiny, tired old raised decorative concrete patio with an obstructing fire pit had become a “toe-stubbing” unused space. These homeowners absolutely wanted the “raised” patio to disappear. This demolition choice defiantly makes a compact space larger and far more usable. Although they wanted both a fire pit and a water feature, they did not want them taking up the core central patio area.

Solving the design dilemma of where to put these wish-list items without sacrificing limited square footage, a 2D-3D design idea that integrates both a water & fire feature, shows how a waterfall wall can become “the” focal point when combined with a contemporary fire pit below, that keeps everyone happy.

This photo-realistic image uses an imaging technique we refer to as a 2D-3D Hybrid image. The fire pit and water wall design, patio furniture, and seating wall were all designed first in 3D software, then screenshots of the objects were taken at precise angles to work best and overlaid on an existing “before” photo. In this case. the shorter and partial Before Photo had to be “built-up” with a composite of several photos that could show the complete existing back wall view.

SURFACES:
Patio = Decorative Concrete and color-matching approximate Davis Colors
Walls = Matching generic stucco walls and house paint colors.
