A Colonial Country House

Grand but simple, this project in Atherton, California reflects the principles of eighteenth-century Georgian architecture. Commissioned by a family who appreciated the smaller-scale colonial treasures of this era, but who desired a larger residence, this project was split into three parts: the main house, the hyphen, and the dependency or carriage house. Doric columns, a pedimented door and window, a gabled roof, and shuttered windows are some key characteristics of this home.
