A Georgian Cottage

Befitting a couple whose children were already grown (and had children of their own), the program for this house was kept minimal and simple. It is small yet elegant and located within walking distance of the town center, enabling the couple to spend more time with their children and grandchildren. Inspired by the 1948 residence for W.C. Holman Jr. in Albany, Georgia by Edward Vason Jones, the house features a recessed middle portion and an understated entry. Doric columns support an arched pediment as you enter into the home which leads into the great room. Over-scaled kitchen and dining rooms reflect the homeowners' lifestyle and love of entertaining.
