A Soft Contemporary Retreat

From an odd, disjointed layout to a retreat from the chaos of the rest of the world. What started as a "galley bathroom" with limited storage and non-existent functionality resulted in a truly inspiring spa-like oasis with careful planning, intentional layout reconfiguration and improved aesthetics to match the owners' personal style. This primary bathroom saw incredible layout changes, essential material updates, and gorgeous aesthetic improvements that came together to create a peaceful sanctuary for the homeowners.

The most notable and obvious change, the reconfiguration of the layout, could not have been accomplished without enlarging the space. We cut into the primary bedroom to add the necessary square footage, being careful not to create a cramped feel in the bedroom. We opted for a double vanity instead of two separate stations to help with the flow of the space, making sure to add ample storage and organizing solutions to the custom-built cabinetry. Plumbing and electrical routes were moved and we added a dedicated walk-in closet space instead of the tiny, seemingly forgotten closets from before. We removed the outdated sunken tub in favor of a freestanding piece that would rest just outside the large glass-walled shower. Instead of leaving the toilet in the shared space, we added a dedicated water closet to add privacy where it's needed most. As with all our projects, we used only the best and most trusted brands for all materials and fixtures, resulting in a space that is both effortlessly functional and incredibly beautiful.

With the added space for the walk-in closet and a blank slate to let our minds run wild, we were able to create a truly custom closet system that fit the needs of the homeowners to a T. We added dedicated His and Hers spaces, floor-to-ceiling shoe racks, and an essential center cabinet unit to help keep the space tidy.

One of our favorite projects in recent years, with a couple we are proud to call friends as well as clients, we look to this home for inspiration when we're feeling stuck. We still can't quite believe the difference from where we started to the finished project. Can you?
