Andre' Furniture
We love furniture, so when we were asked to design and build these 2 unique pieces, we jumped at the opportunity. The small Credenza was built to store the clients numerous cook books. As you could imagine, the books are not all the same size. This is what drove the offset design of the middle shelf. We came up with the idea of doing a waterfall edge with the frame and wood. We knew this would not be an easy accomplishment but the final result would be worth it. Once everything came together, we were all blown away, as was the client!
The wine rack was another design challenge. The client did not have much space for this piece, but plenty of stuff to place into it. We decided to go with a cantilevered (floating) design to hold the bottles. This is accomplished with ½” square bar cut and fit on the diamond. During the design phase, we were asked if we could incorporate a drawer. We had never been asked to make an operable drawer from steel before. Never to back down from such a request, we looked into it. The end result was great. We purchased some really nice, heavy duty ball bearing slides and drilled and tapped all the necessary holes to fix it in place.
Both pieces feature our blackened steel finish. The beautiful wood work is locally sourced mesquite, done by Nick Sziklai with Summerwood Building
