This custom bbq smoker features a steel firebox and smoke box. Firebox is made from CNC plasma cut ¼” Hot rolled steel. Door has built in vent dampener and custom latch. Front of firebox façade caps the stone work on the front and top edges. Stone was hand ground so that the panel would flush out smoothly. Smoke flows through a 6” sch 40 pipe into smoke box.
The smoke box features a 2” x 3” Angle frame for support. Smoke grate is made from ½” round bar perimeter and ¾ x #9 expanded metal. Lid is made from CNC cut 10ga hot rolled steel. The lid was bent on a press brake to achieve the desired profile. Ends were capped, fully welded, and ground smooth. Handle is custom made from CNC cut parts and 1” sch40 pipe. Counterweight and smoke stack are made from 3-1/2” sch 40 pipe. An adjustable chimney cap tops everything off. Cap is held in place by a clevis pin that rides inside a bronze bushing.
