Arts and Crafts

A delightful Arts and Crafts home in the Boston suburbs that had been mistreated in the past and required a complete renovation. We brought back and reinforced the Arts and Crafts character of the original house, and extended it to the new pool and guest house we built in the rear yard.

A new pool house, with a large open great room, a guest room, bath and changing facilities, sits just behind the main house. The form is drawn both from the Arts and Crafts style of the original house, as well as from Japanese farmhouse precedents.

A fireplace nook becomes a special place with rich wood paneling and built-in benches, a dark high gloss wood floor and a copper fireplace surround.

The cabinetry is traditional Arts and Crafts style, with a farmer sink and open bases.

Kitchen

The original 1910 house was completely restored, renewed and expanded to the rear of the lot, including construction of a new pool house and pool.
