This 19th century townhouse in an historic urban neighborhood required a full renovation to bring it to modern standards and adapt it to contemporary family life.

A new kitchen forms the heart of the house, with a large open island and seating area.

This city house demands that all of its spaces are efficiently designed, no less in the kitchen, with its cool materials and colors and functional layout.

Two matching sets of doors appear to conceal storage areas, but the set on the left is in fact a hidden door to a new powder room.

In a bit of tricky spacemaking, the built-in bookshelves actually have false doors below, allowing space concealed behind for a wine cooler that faces the kitchen behind!

Living Room

On the top floor of the house we created a master suite within the sloping rooflines, with a sleeping area divided by custom cabinetry from a sitting area.
