Rear foundation and patio renovation project to enhance the dining/entertaining space and organize the planting spaces to accommodate this client's antique garden structures and facilitate her love of gardening with blooming perennials and edibles, and outdoor living with her 2 beloved dogs. The long, narrow rectangular patio was refinished with a textured and stained concrete overlay, and extended into the narrow yard with a circular patio of decorative concrete pavers inset into one corner of the existing patio. A raised garden bed of landscape timbers was constructed at one end of the patio, which also functions as an outdoor room divider and provides extra patio seating. A boxwood hedge separates the boulder-lined, dog-friendly chipped slate path from the edible garden, where blueberry bushes are planted in the space between the boxwoods and the raised garden bed.
