Barn Inspired Ranch House

This really cool "Barndominium" was built in the last year by Monien Construction out of Darien. Nick and his team were great to work with and the homeowners are repeat clients that have put their trust in me, once again. Nothing is more fun than creating the retirement home of someone's dreams with them and for them!

The lower base run under the windows is designed to keep the messes off to the side. With a large undermounted sink and dishwasher and easy access to the walk through pantry, this counter top expanse can handle a simple breakfast bowl to a full family feast of leftovers needing to be scraped away!

The floating oak staircase is like a sculpture in the front of the house. The decision to carry the skirting board around the foyer also ended up providing a perfect place for a line up wall washing pot lights.

The open staircase to the loft has metal balusters which pair with the black metal windows throughout the home. All of the metal finishes mix and match well.

The main floor laundry room is just off the primary bedroom suite, complete with a working office one end, and the mudroom entry off the garage on the other. This hard working space is a command center in the day, and a resting place at night for the animals of the house.

The mudroom area in the back hall keeps piles of shoes and coats hidden from view, but easy to grab when heading out the door. This space is connected to the laundry room with the powder room just around the corner.

The wallpaper in the main floor powder room was a fun find. The graphic print is sophisitcated and quilt-like at the same time. The round mirror and hanging sconces provide the best finishing touch.
