Bee and Beautiful Kitchen

A diminutive kitchen in an historic home which is now being used as an Air B-N-B in Charleston. The walls are ensconced in beautiful tiles which have a botanical flair, and the kitchen feels like you'll be transported to Provence with French antiques from the 1800's and plenty of sparkly details.

Cozy and Compact

Cooking with Gas
The tile has all of the colors for this space... and they are repeated, notice the blue ceiling, white cabinetry, and the stainless appliances. The bold hardware, farm sink and faucet are in soft brass and the custom window treatments are in an embroidered gold Thibaut fabric, so rich!

Facing the courtyard the antique French garden chairs are right at home with the narrow table from the 1800's on a vintage rug.

Brassy not sassy!
The chunky brass hex knobs are another nod to the subtle bee theme in the space, a nod to the "BEE" in the name of the inn, it is called The Bee and Blossom and available for rentals located in Charleston.

A cozy niche above the microwave is an ideal spot for a drinks station, coffee or dessert. The wall tile is from the Bohemia Collection by Garden State Tile and it has a honeycomb shape with subtle botanical motif and a rustic old world feel.
Nice Niche
The light spills in from the garden to the seating area casting beautiful shadows across the tiled wall. The floor to ceiling tile is on all the walls, not just the backsplash.

Heirloom china and silver with vintage linens on an antique French table are the perfect setting for brunch overlooking the courtyard.

White counters with swaths of honey streaks and bits of gold sparkle peppered through among the gray fine veins. The "Clovelly" quartz by Cambria was chosen for its durability and perfect color, the exact combination needed for this space.

The kitchen features some "Bee" accents in a nod to the name of the inn... it's called Bee and Blossom and the light fixtures were selected for their resemblance to hives and the ceiling was painted sky blue with hand painted bees buzzing toward the hive to add some whimsy.

The cabinetry is white, the appliances are stainless steel and the hardware, apron front farm sink and pull-down faucet are in soft brass adding lustre which compliments the light fixtures and accents in this compact kitchen.
