Bloomfield Hills, MI - Total Transformation
Our clients came to us with dreams of turning their Bloomfield Hills backyard into a more functional space for their family. The yard already had a patio which had become outdated and needed to meet their desire to host more outdoor dining and bonfires.
One of the main challenges of the design was the multiple entries into their home. We were able to design a functional bi-level patio with two separate entrances, each with a dedicated landing. The two levels were connected with Raffinato Steps from Techo Bloc.
The patio connected to their front driveway via a new paver walkway. Another element designed for this project for functionality was a seat wall. The clients love entertaining, and the seat wall was designed into the patio to expand the outdoor seating.
The existing patio had to be removed for this project, which allowed us to incorporate a drainage system into the project to correct the water flow issues the property was experiencing. To complement the patio's more modern feel, the landscape was updated with more modern and reliable plants such as Japanese Forest Grass and Boxwoods.
Overall, the entire backyard was transformed into the yard they had been dreaming about.
