Sometimes, a client comes to you with an idea, but the timing for the project could be better. That is what happened on this project. The clients were eager to create an outdoor space that matched their extensive interior renovations. They contacted us and met with Senior Designer Lynn Cavanaugh a few years before the project came to fruition. Since the lakefront property was a blank slate at the start, we completed the project in phases over two years. The multi-year project allowed our team to collaborate fully with the clients to create their dream lake life.

The clients were looking for an outdoor space they could enjoy all summer long when they weren’t enjoying their boat. Due to the uniqueness of their property being on a slope and lakefront property, the designer had to work closely with the city on the design. All plans had to be approved by the city’s planning commission. Lynn designed two separate gathering spaces connected by a stepping stone path to achieve a functional space. Additionally, a walkway takes you directly to the water’s edge and the boathouse.

The goal of this project was to create a wow effect from the lake, and the completion of the project achieved it. The clients love admiring the view from their boat.
