This pitch perfect contemporary gable roof project is an impeccable example of gentle densification in #EastVan
Skillful design elements of height, window placement, skylights and layout have created two comfortable homes where there was once one.
This is a multi-family front-back duplex in the heart of East Vancouver’s Cedar Cottage neighbourhood walking distance from various coffee houses, local grocers, bakeries, shops, parks and schools.
Each residence gives owners stunning 18-foot cathedral ceilings throughout the top floor bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways and even the walk-in closets.
Homes offer approximately 1,500 sq ft of living space for each family with distinctive attributes to each homes’ layout, a secured parking garage and lovely outdoor spaces for relaxing and entertaining.
This project is an example of an opportunity that was created when Vancouver city council voted to rezone much of the city to allow duplexes in primarily single-family home neighbourhoods.
Since its completion both homeowners and Averra Developments have received frequent complements and inquiries as to who designed this project and its costs. Thus, we reached out to the projects’ architect to gain some of her insights.
