Concrete Polish and Seal
This project was for a private school located in Lakeville CT. The scope of work consisted of the grinding and polishing of a concrete floor followed by sealing with a sealer approved for use in commercial kitchens.
First of all we ground and profiled the floor using our Werkmaster Titan XT polishing machine with 16 grit metal diamond tooling. The concrete had been steel trowelled and coated with a protective layer during the initial pour. This made it fairly hard to prepare.
The second stage was to grind the floor with 40 grit tooling to remove any tool marks from the initial grind.
We then coated the concrete with Elite Crete VR-1 UV stable epoxy at a rate of 200 square feet per gallon. The coverage was excellent and the surface leveled out smooth and evenly.
The following day we top coated with Elite Crete AUS-V Aliphatic Urethane with a satin non slip additive called Aluminum Oxide.
The result is an attractive floor that is ideal for any residential application but also hard wearing enough to handle commercial and industrial traffic.
