The client came across our award-winning "A Reclaimed Retreat" Case Study and was immediately inspired to start their own journey with our Design & Build Team.
The initial idea was to create an open concept home theater with a warm feel to it. Unfortunately, that would have left visitors to walk through a large portion of unfinished space in the basement, taking away from the charm of the theater itself. That is when they decided to let Gramophone create a seamless design throughout the entire space.
The initial concept had flow and floor plan challenges, but our team was able to overcome them with the installation of harmoniously placed beams to support the layout transformation.
We equipped the home theater with a Sony 4K UHD projector, a 110-inch screen, and Dolby Atmos Surround Sound System featuring Totem Acoustics on-wall and in-wall/ceiling speakers, finished off with cozy leather recliners. The custom-made bar got dressed in lightly stained brick and beautiful countertops. The dark wooden beams and double barn doors support the warm yet open concept and allow privacy when needed. We then built out a guest room, bathroom and were able to modify the utility room into a gym with glass doors for an unobstructed view onto the screen while working out – everything entirely created from scratch!
