Dallas l A Complete Facelift

This typical 1990s primary bathroom was poorly laid out, featuring a massive built-in bathtub, inadequate storage, and a lack of visual interest. Enter the designer, who transformed this outdated space into a stunning masterpiece.

The first step was to remove the existing tub and install an oversized frameless glass shower, opening up the space. Shower controls were conveniently placed by the door, and multiple shower heads, wands, and body sprayers were added, along with a sitting bench for a spa-like experience. To add visual interest, eye-catching colorful tiles were installed in a herringbone pattern. The shower tiles stopped three-quarters of the way up the wall, drawing attention away from the 12-foot ceilings and maintaining a more traditional eye line, avoiding a cavernous feel.

The two vanities were consolidated into one with dual sinks, and a large linen closet was added for ample storage. A large mirror over the vanity, featuring built-in lights, beautifully reflects the stunning tile work in the shower, adding further visual appeal. Outdated fixtures and 1990s gold finishes were replaced with modern elements and brushed nickel finishes, and Subtle features, such as inlaid floor tiles and heated flooring, elevate this sophisticated space.

Finally, the primary closet, which opens to the bathroom, was also upgraded. The original awkward and poorly designed shelves and rails were replaced with a furniture-like closet system, providing more efficient storage.
