For this project, the client, a retired Coast Guard commander, envisioned a home office that would evoke both the tranquility and the adventure of the sea. The result is a space that masterfully captures a nautical theme, with a captivating piece of artwork at its heart. Every element was meticulously chosen to complement the vibrant colors and dynamic style of this central artwork, creating a cohesive and inspiring environment.

The transformation of the original study, built in the mid-1990s, was nothing short of dramatic. What was once a small, dark, and awkward space has been reimagined into a bright and functional office. Gone are the outdated dark wood panels, replaced by soft cream-colored walls that enhance the room's light and airy feel.

Custom-built ins, crafted in a striking custom color, offer adjustable shelves and ample file drawer space. Innovative design features include hidden writing desks that extend the main desk surface and custom-designed "library" drawers for discreetly storing large books. The addition of a walnut desk surface introduces warmth and sophistication, beautifully balancing the room's bright ambiance.
