Dallas | Preston Royal | Kitchen
A kitchen and great room remodel in a mid century modern house in the Preston Royal neighborhood. The customer wanted a loft style design with elements of a 50's diner. They already owned or picked out a red diner booth and a retro looking fridge. The remodel was based around these pieces. First the very small galley kitchen with dropped ceiling was opened up to the great room by removing a wall and a very large fireplace between the rooms. The ceiling in the kitchen was eliminated so the ceiling could extend to the roof like was done originally in the great room. transom windows were added at the top of the kitchen wall and all of the hvac supply vents were changed to loft like duct work.
