Originally a strip/sand/refinish job, I determined on the first day that the deck surface was not salvageable. The homeowner had applied a 'deck restoring' product that could not be removed. The main deck surface was removed and replaced. The stairs and railing were sanded to bare wood and the bottom stair skirt was removed and replaced. The entire deck was stained/sealed with a commercial grade stain/sealer. The result of the old, weathered wood with the fresh wood gave a really cool and elegant 2-tone look which the homeowner really liked.
