The existing deck here had been built by one of the previous homeowners. They had only basic knowledge of deck construction and clearly no permits were ever applied for in its construction. The deck was quite literally a death-trap. It was already falling off the house and was ready to collapse entirely.

My client hired me to demo and remove the existing deck and replace it with a small one to serve as an entry point to the door. He asked for something basic and simple but functional until he decides what to do with the area in the future. The old deck had caused a lot of damage to the exterior of the home around the doorway which was also repaired.
