Delano Park Cottage
Completed in 2005
Sited within Cape Elizabeth's Delano Park, this project involved the design of a new four-season cottage meant for summer living. An open plan arrangement of spaces provides generous circulation between rooms and gives each of the primary living spaces a view to the waterfront and ocean beyond. The second-floor design includes two ensuite bedrooms, a guest bedroom, and a balcony overlooking the water. The main house is linked to a detached garage with guest space above by a covered colonnade. A covered entry greets guests as they arrive at the main entry door of the home.
The shingle-style design, exterior forms, and use of local materials help our client's new home fit successfully in with the surrounding architecture. Delano Park includes the classic shingle-style Brown-Donahue House designed by Maine architect John Calvin Stevens.
