This classic New England hunting and fishing camp overlooks scenic Mooselookmeguntic Lake, and offers its owners a welcoming rustic retreat. Unfortunately, many harsh Maine winters had begun to take their toll on the main structure and lakefront boathouse. Our design called for a complete renovation and systems upgrade of the camp, while looking to preserve its rustic charm.

A new guest quarters above the boathouse served as a temporary residence for the homeowner during renovations to the main cabin. Improvements to the cabin's first floor include a new entrance, guest suites, and a new open kitchen, dining, and living space complete with stone fireplace. The expanded upper floor provides space for a new master suite, home office, and lake-facing balcony. In keeping with the emphasis on outdoor living, improvements to the cabin also included an all new and extensive waterfront porch. On the exterior, new materials merge with old seamlessly, allowing the cottage to maintain its classic character.
