Dutch Colonial | Willow Glen

Located in the fantastic Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose, this Dutch Colonial home was originally built in 1941 and was in need up an update. The project included remodeling the kitchen, adding a full bath, and adding a laundry room inside the home. The result is modern, airy, and welcoming.

While the entry is similar to the original, two side lites were replaced with one in order to create space for a "drop zone" in the entry.

Dated wood paneling and beams on the living room ceiling were removed and replaced with painted drywall. The result is a bright, fresh room that feels comfortable and modern.

The original brick fireplace was painted white, incorporating this design element into the rest of the room. A wall-mounted tv resides above the fireplace. An inviting L-shaped sofa and rattan side tables encourage relaxation.
