This yard had not been landscaped in almost 40 years so we left only the best of the overgrown shrubs and trees. Because of the cool climate and busy schedules, the client's priority was to enjoy the natural beauty through the windows and at night. They preferred low maintenance, simple elegance, and space between plants. They wanted some optional spaces for a fire pit, a dining patio, and two lounging patios but they mostly enjoy looking at the views and their pretty plants. Fruit trees, berries, and a vegetable bed provide them with fun food to nibble on. We replaced and extended an old wooden retaining wall with a gently curved Connecticut Bluestone natural dry stack wall.
