Willow Glen Driveway turns Lush

This Willow Glen victorian has no back yard so we turned their driveway into a private, verdant outdoor room. The client wanted to look from her dining room table inside those glass doors and see lots of green. They had a budget of under $10K so we needed a lot of bang for our buck. We lined the steps with large planters and stuffed them, put an arched trellis across the base of the steps with vines climbing up both sides and put a focal potted plant in front of the fence. She wanted a shady sitting area & dining area so we strategically positioned 3 shade sails. And to provide privacy from the neighbors right on the other side of the fence, we built two tall arched trellises and covered them with Wisteria and Honeysuckle vines. We moved the barbecue just to the left of the doors and added a small sitting area & greened up the wall with planting pockets for herbs and succulents. We cut a large area out of the driveway just to the right of the doorway next to the house so when the client walked out the door, she would be surrounded by plants just as she desired. We enlarged the planting areas along the fence and behind the house as well and added large pots too.
