To create a multifunctional outdoor living space, the design and installation teams at Merrifield Garden Center built a large flagstone patio that accommodates areas for lounging, conversation, and gathering around a fire. Gaining that much usable space required a low retaining wall at the back of the patio. A custom-built pergola adds height and drama to the space, and landscape lighting not only looks lovely but makes the patio usable into the night.
