When the homeowners called us out to discuss their front yard remodel they were wanting to remove a struggling front lawn under the shade of a large red oak. They wanted to eliminate the lawn and incorporate a contemporary style. I saw this vision immediately in my mind and after delivering the first design draft they captured the vision too. The mature trees, front courtyard wall and concrete walkway were left in place. We excavated the sloping yard into two levels separated by a sweeping "S" curved concrete bench/wall circling a ground level "Bubbling Pot" fountain and crushed gravel with linear concrete step pads. We visited a local rock yard and selected some Montana Boulders with sharp angular edges and a stone sculpture. We selected mostly water wise plants and strategically placed LED low voltage lighting. It ha become one of my favorites.
