This sunny hillside Calabasas pool has the look and feel of a peaceful rock quarry somewhere in the south of France. But the quiet is frequently broken with laughter, as one child after another races down the giant slide and tumbles into the water. This client has kids in all age groups and wanted a yard to maximize amusement for them, their friends, and adults too. A spa where teens could entertain friends and a pool that offered plenty of opportunity for sliding and jumping in were both high on the wish list.

An upslope posed a challenge, but we decided to capitalize on this by creating a pool with high stone walls that also serve as a retaining system. We added a commercial grade 52-foot fiberglass slide that gives swimmers young and old a wild ride.

With a sizeable outdoor kitchen, comfortable outdoor living areas, colorful flowers and soothing water features, there’s something for everyone in this French country poolscape.
