The Reign in Spain
This project was a full backyard makeover in the Westcliffe community of Porter Ranch. The homeowners had a standard yard, but they wanted something that felt high-end, comfortable, and built for entertaining. The goal was simple: create a space where people naturally want to gather and where the family could relax every day.
We centered the design around a sunken bar that instantly became the heart of the backyard. It’s a fun, social feature that makes the space feel unique and inviting. A custom aluminum patio cover adds shade and a clean, modern look, while an 8-foot rainfall water feature brings in the relaxing sound of falling water and gives the yard a resort vibe.
The pool was designed with straight lines to keep things modern and clean. A Baja shelf offers a shallow spot for lounging, and three sheer descents add movement and a nice visual touch as water flows into the pool. The raised spa sits nearby, framed by two fire troughs and a fire pot. At night, the glow from the fire reflecting off the water completely changes the feel of the space.
The outdoor kitchen is both practical and eye-catching, featuring a cast-in-place concrete countertop with color-changing fiber optic lighting that really stands out after dark. In the front yard, tropical landscaping and a peaceful koi pond set the tone before you even reach the backyard.
The Reign in Spain isn’t just a backyard with a lot of features—it’s a space that feels intentional, welcoming, and built for real life. What started as an ordinary yard is now a private retreat made for relaxing, hosting, and enjoying time outside.
