The owners were seeking a calm, simple kitchen to for everyday cooking in a rich mix of blue and grey tones. We moved to sink from a dark corner to the bright window location. From there, we moved the range to a long wall and packed in as much efficient storage as possible (along with a small wine refrigerator). The white wall cabinets create a lovely contrast with the deep blue base cabinets, all tied together by the whites and greys of the marble countertops and tiles. Very important was built-in seating which provides a comfortable place for morning coffee, serves as the "kids table" during large gatherings, or easily fits a gaggle of grandkids for a birthday celebration.
