A couple came to us seeking to expand their Glen Park home. But the lot is only sixteen feet wide, so our team developed an extremely efficient plan that still manages to feel spacious. By excavating at the lower level, we created a new guest suite/office, maker’s workshop, storage, and a new stair to the main level. Keeping vertical circulation limited to the center of the house allows space at the front and rear rooms to be maximized. As an all-electric home utilizing heat pumps, solar power, and battery storage, this structure illustrates the future of homebuilding.
