When meeting with a new client, my standard protocol is to dig deep…really find out what they need vs what they want. We discuss how a space is going to be used, lifestyle etc.
This room was previously used as a home office / work out spot. It was rarely used. We truly needed to design some new energy and life into this space. In discussing lifestyle and general interests, we determined it would be great fun to make this the spot to have “cocktails” and entertain. Custom built-ins flanking the window with symmetrical bar cabinets was the answer. It added weight to that end of the room, enabled my client to display some accessories, and have practlical space. We intentionally didn’t incorporate a TV. We reserved that for the family room and the client has now moved the home office upstairs to a vacant bedroom.
