Dinner on the porch…. cocktails are served!
This porch, once a gloomy destination with the old metal framed sofa and a loveseat that had seen better days. The porch floor was chipping, and trees were a bit over grown. Nothing a few small changes couldn’t fix….tree trimming, a new deck platform, and comfortable furniture - voilà a new space. Low maintance was priority number one.
Color played a key role in transforming this space. Instead of going the traditional stained floor route we went with a engineered all weather decking in gray. A neutral that just disappeared. I decided to further the color story of the neutral gray in the all weather wicker comfortable seating. To liven things up by adding grass green, royal blue, & white accessories and upholstery. Against the charcoal everything pops. My clients are avid entertainers so it was important that this area be practical as well as beautiful. All the materials are performance and all of the accessories are designed for outdoor living - acrylic tableware, outdoor lanterns, outdoor candles, and all weather throw pillows. Several of the accessories have to come in and I recommend covering the upholstery off-season, but overall it’s a very livable easy maintenance porch
