The request of the client was for a custom cabinet to house a special collection of guitars. The quality of the guitars required them to be displayed prominently. The solution was a tall display cabinet tucked in between two walls and an overhead soffit. In order to display the collection the display cabinet was designed with frameless glass doors with no door frame to obscure the view of the collection. Each guitar was installed on an adjustable guitar hanger which hangs on a rail along the back of the cabinet. The guitar hangers were designed to be movable along the hanging rail which is the same material as the back panel in the cabinet. This allows for easy rearrangement of the collection due to additions and changes. The guitar hangers themselves were custom mounted on blocks in the matching cabinetry material. The entire cabinet is quartered English sycamore with a light stain and a high gloss finish. Careful attention was paid when installing the cabinetry to ensure the specified margins and details of the cabinetry were adhered to.
