Hip Downtown Condo Renovation

Aside from its fantastic location, this apartment was a boring blank canvas of space which needed a hip downtown design including custom carpentry and a few serious upgrades. For starters, almost everything created and designed for this posh pad was custom made and created by our team of creative carpenters and designers.

To give this condo a more prominent entry hallway, our team designed a large wooden paneled wall that ran perpendicular to the front door. The paneled wall, made of Brazilian plantation wood, was built on a metal frame which each wood panel was then placed accordingly and then stained with a charcoal finish. This new entry way shows a creative way to express style and class as well as adds a unique accent wall to the space.

To further the uniqueness of this condo, we added a sophisticated wall divider in the middle of the living space. This divider acted as both a television stand, bookshelf, and fireplace, making this chic design perfect for saving space and adding a bit of privacy to the divided areas.

The floors in this posh River North condominium were bland and just plain boring. However, the floors were really a mainstay in helping create such a drastic change. By using a water based polyurethane varnish on the entire flooring, and a sealant used especially for condominium remodeling due to its dust resistant and odorless properties, we were then able to apply a custom coconut color stain. The creamy coconut stain, which we applied to the sanded wooden floors, was mixed and matched to form a perfect concoction of slate grays and sandy whites. In the end, it was the avant-garde flooring that pushed this condo’s foundation from drab to fab.
