Working from home has become necessary for so many of us. Having a tidy, well organized desk and office is crucial for achieving maximum productivity. This office was a mess of unpacked boxes and paperwork. There was a nice closet that was crammed with items that had been put there because the homeowner didn’t know what else to do with them.

We began this project by unpacking the boxes and decluttering. We cleaned out the closet and found more appropriate homes for a lot of the items. We implemented a paper filing system for long term paper storage and created “drop boxes” for paperwork that needed quick attention. We also added bins with tag labels for things like computer components, office supplies and small equipment. Cord management and small organizers on the desktop helped to make the desk much tidier. Last, we spruced up the built-in bookshelves so they looked nice for virtual meetings.
