Interior Design Consultations

Clients often call me in for short consultations--to brainstorm ideas, tweak plans and cut through the overwhelming options prevalent in new construction and home remodeling. I love to come up with design details that end up making a BIG difference! This Ideabook contains some of my favorites.

Instead of the traditional wood spindles on stairs, I almost always recommend stainless steel cables. They coordinate with any style and prevent closing off great views.

All doors do not have to match the color on your moldings! This beautiful red barn door covers the pantry. There's also a natural hickory door and a white exterior door in this small hallway. It's so much more interesting than 3 white doors.

Handmade white subway tiles make this wall sparkle! The thick shelves each have a small recessed light underneath for evening drama. The black granite counters are honed for a silky feel.

This kitchen has white cabinets on the perimeter and a dark center island - it's a pretty space. The walnut island counter brings warmth and the Wow factor. If you love wood, like these homeowners do, this is the counter for you!

These homeowners designed this spot themselves, but I have to show it off because it is SO brilliant! It's in the kitchen, right beneath the stairs. What a terrific use of space! Having this area avoids traffic jams in the kitchen.
