This is a design build project for a home we designed in Italian Renaissance style. The kitchen has maple cabinets with antique finish. The counters are granite with black absolute granite for backsplashes and island. We used rosa granite for the counters. The hood has a remote blower with stainless steel finish. The window valances match the cabinets in this remodeling detail. The adjacent breakfast room has a hand-painted medallion on the ceiling above.

The family room looks out to the rear yard. At the far end of the room is a built-in TV screen, flush with black glass cabinet doors; when the TV is off it becomes a wall of black glass. Equipment to operate the TV and components is hidden behind the glass for a clean look. The granite pattern was created with mosaic liners and several granite types.

The bar is adjacent to the family room. The splash above the rear bar counter has a vineyard stained glass window design. The flooring is slab marble with custom floor patterns. This bar was designed so the owner could sit in a stool with his back to the stained-glass window and entertain three guests in front of him.
